Full immersion or frequent breaks? How do you translate?

Howdy friends!

Different translators have different approach to the translation process. Some people prefer to go all in and turn their work into a marathon of sorts, while others prefer taking frequent breaks during the translation.

I was wondering what kind of a translator are you? Do you think the way we choose to work has something to do with our personality? Looking forward to the discussion!

I need a break every hour or so. Otherwise I feel like my head is ready to explode xD

I take 10-min breaks every 50 minutes, although when I am deeply immersed I can go on non-stop for 2 hours max. ? I find it useful to schedule breaks when I tend to distract easily (because of my mood or because the difficulty/urgency/topic of the translation allows so) so I can just postpone my cravings and whims instead of giving up on them ?

I try to always do 1 hour before I take 5-10 mins off. If I translate fiction, I sometimes extend to 1.5h-2h before taking a break ?
