I have a file with the CSV format and it has 2 columns (English and Arabic). I would like to use this while I am using SDL Trados Studio. How do I do that? do I use it as a translation memory or termbase?
Please help if you can
Thanks Fadwa
Fadwa So this is likely a translation memory as far as I understand. Does this file contain previously translated sentences?
Dmitry yes, phrases, terms and sentences
Fadwa So yeah, that's probably a TM and I believe you should be able to import it and use it during translation. Actually, let me ping someone from SDL's team to see if they can give you a better answer ?
Fadwa Hi Fadwa, I use a pretty nice Trados plugin (which also works as a standalone application) which is called Glossary Converter http://www.cerebus.de/glossaryconverter/ You just need to drag&drop your CSV file into the application and it will convert the file to a Studio termbase file or to a TMX file which you can then import into a Trados TM. You can set the output format you want in the Settings. Try it out and let me know if you have any questions ?
eleonorang Thank you so much. the converter is amazing. Thanks again
