I have "just started" as a translator after many years in the private sector. I know that things are always slow at the beginning so I use this time for marketing and specialising. I will start soon a culinary translation course. Gastronomy is one of my passions and I really hope I can find work in that field. Buuut, the other day, I discovered a one year course on accessibility of cultural contents and it touched a very personal chord... I am hearing impaired, so is my mum, my aunt, etc. and this topic has always been dear to me because I already know that things are going to get worse, hearing wise and I am already missing a lot of the cultural life. I was wondering if some of you are already working in that field and could share some insight. For those of you who are not familiar with "accessibility of cultural contents", it refers to audiodescription for movies, etc.
Thank you very much in advance!
