Greetings everyone!
For an undergraduate project, I choose to work on the Italian translations of Les Misérables, by Victor Hugo. I have to compare and comment samples of the original with the translations, and to introduce the translators that did the work.
Problem is, I live in Canada, and here, the resources for that matter are a bit limited. Fortunately, I found two translations online that I can use. I know there are a few Italians in this community, so, maybe, someone will have a clue!
Anyone knows a database/resource on which I may find this information, or maybe, by chance, knows something about these translators?! Their names are Renato Colantuoni and Valentino Piccoli. They both translated this masterpiece in 1930 and 1935, respectively. I contacted the publishing houses they worked with, but without any answer from their part. Anything about the translation of this book in Italian and its effects on society is also relevant!
Thank you so much for any help!
