This is quite interesting and popular topic these days since employee's needs have been taken more seriously since a while ago. I've been reading about workspace settings for some time already and I can tell that there are a few considerable and interesting suggestions - from an open concept office to the office kitchen space, totally employee-friendly.
Folks in my office are doing the same (it's in progress) - equipping the office with ergonomic chairs, adjusting them to the desk height, and in the kitchen we have only Energy Star certified (Frigidaire dishwasher https://www.appliancesconnection.com/frigidaire-ffbd2412ss.html and a fridge for now). I'm emphasising it because we should all keep the energy efficiency in mind and I think that's a great move in my office. Going green and being employee-friendly.
That works great for us - we all have a space for some serious relaxation and team building, which increases our productivity for sure. I'm applying the same in my home-office, trying to adjust it to my needs with one goal - to be more productive.
You mentioned exercising and that's also very important. As you all know, there are many workspaces that have established some sort of fitness program for employees. I have a gym next to my office so sometimes I take a break for a work-out and it does miracles for me, I'm always much more focused and productive after it.
