Translation is a super fun activity, especially when you work in creative fields such as marketing, literary translation or video game localization. I'm sure some of you have their guilty pleasures in translation. My guilty pleasure is translating curse words. Every now and then I have a video game project intended to adult audience due to violence, gore and strong language. And nothing makes me happier than translating all those curses and strong emotional expressions. I really let my imagination run wild while translating strong language. It might seem childish, but I find it fun and so does my wife, when I share my best works with her. We even come up with variants and choose best contenders (lucky for us Russian is an incredible language when it comes to cursing, the sheer variety is mind-blowing) ? What about you? What are your favorite guilty pleasures in translation?

Dmitry I feel you! In university, I attended a course by an Irish professor who taught us all the different ways to curse in Ireland and England (there's so many! lol) It was so fun.

I'm afraid I don't really have a guilty pleasure, besides eating while I work which normally I try to avoid because I care for the survival of my keyboard ?

Well, apart from eating, I gotta say that I'm a coffee/tea addict, which isn't safe at all, since I am extremely clumsy ?
I've already lost two mobile phones because of accidentaly dropping them in water :S

Sadly, I'm allergic. I found out a couple of years ago, when my aunt got a cat. I loved it and even though I knew I was allergic I kept petting it (not good for my eyes, nose and skin, but I just couldn't help it!).
